The Yankees offense came alive last night, scoring 11 runs and picking up a much needed win over the Angels.
One thing they did not do yesterday was hold Shohei Ohtani in check. The Angels’ star hit two homers yesterday, and now has three for the series. Today, they’ll have to deal with him not only at the plate, but on the mound as well. Ohtani will be the Angels’ starting pitcher as well as hitting leadoff in LA’s lineup.
As for the Yankees, they’ll give the ball to Domingo Germán. It’s been a rough stretch on the mound for Germán, as he’s struggled in all three of his last three starts. After coming into June with a 3.06 ERA, he comes into his final start of the month with that ERA up to 4.32.
Elsewhere in the lineup, Aaron Judge and Gio Urshela are notable absences from today’s starting nine. According to Wynnbet, the Yankees are favored by 1.5 runs to win.
Go Yankees, go baseball.
