Your Wednesday report before part three of Angels-Yankees.

This team may be down, but they’re not out. The Yankee offense finally showed some signs of life yesterday, pounding the Angels’ pitchers for 11 runs and backing up a so-so Jameson Taillon. They also managed to upstage Shohei Ohtani, who has been crushing it in his first trip to Yankee Stadium and blasted a pair of home runs against them — he’s got three already this series, and he’s going to forego the DH slot and bat while pitching tonight. Ohtani is an insane player to watch, and while the Yankees need as many wins as possible right now he is certainly a spectacle worth watching even when he’s against the Bombers.

Before the action gets underway, feel free to check out some of the things we’ve prepared for you. John will ask for your input on the 2021 AL All-Star ballot, while Josh will look into our first trade candidate: the Colorado Rockies. Cooper looks into the disparity in home run numbers generated by Old Yankee Stadium and modern ballparks like YSIII, and Dan wraps things up by discussing the results of the Yankees’ emphasis on stolen bases in their minor league organizations.
