The suddenly ice-cold Yankees try to snap a four-game losing streak.

I’ll be upfront — I’ve been fortunate enough to have mostly been on vacation for the past half-week, so I’ve witnessed blessedly little Yankees baseball other than bits and pieces here and there. And yeah, based on the results and what I’ve read about them, it’s been disastrous. You can’t drop three games in a row in Fenway, and you definitely can’t drop a game in which the pitching-poor Angels lose a starter in the second inning and win anyway. The Yankees are in a bad way right now and can’t waste any time at all if they want to get back into the mix. Awful, awful.

Today on the site, Dan will do his weekly minor league roundup, and Andres will consider Triple-A outfielder Trey Amburgey as a potential boost to the lineup. Later on, Josh will preview the D-backs as potential trade partner, and Joe will check back in on some of the Yankees’ offseason departures.

Fun Questions:

1. Mired in a 2-for-29 slump and hitless since June 17th, should the Yankees pressure Brett Gardner to call it a career ASAP? Or do you feel there is just little incentive to do so at this point?

2. Will you be watching as Vanderbilt goes for their second straight College World Series title tonight? Or do you not have much interest in college baseball?
