My baseball intel informs me that it’s difficult to win games when you only get four hits. The Yankees made them count, as two of them were homers, but so it goes (especially when the bullpen doesn’t have a perfect night). They’ll have to fare better this afternoon, when Domingo Germán takes the hill against Chris Bassitt.
Today on the site, Cooper will look into the mysterious evolution of Chad Green’s fastball and Peter will explore which buttons Aaron Boone pushed correctly during the sweep of the Blue Jays. Later, Kevin will reminisce about some superb first halves by Yankees hitters in the 2010s that did not earn All-Star honors but are worth remembering.
