Your rundown on this Friday.

At the risk of jinxing it all, the Yankees flashed signs of turning it around this week. They went into Buffalo and swept away a talented Blue Jays club, hopefully stabilizing their season in the process. They won’t be able to let up, as they play weekend hosts to the AL West-leading Athletics. The opening pitching matchup is intriguing, with former Yankee farmhand James Kaprielian going out for the A’s. Jameson Taillon gets the ball for New York as he continues to try to turn his campaign around.

Today on the site Matt previews the series with Oakland, while Ryan delivers some mailbag answers. Also, John discusses how out-of-nowhere the Yankees’ offensive struggles have been, and Andres analyzes Chris Gittens’ 2021 season.
