Well, things in Minnesota didn’t end exactly as we may have liked, but the Yankees walked away with a series victory and some offensive mojo at last. Considering it took a completely ineffective Aroldis Chapman for the Twins to avoid the sweep, I’d be willing to bet the team comes away with three wins more often than not and would gladly sign up for a month of Twins-Yankees. Sadly, the schedule makers disagree and have the Bombers en route to Philadelphia, with a day off today for ... marketing reasons, apparently.
Regardless, we’ll still be around and posting throughout the day. I’ve got a double-dip with a minors recap before answering your most recent mailbag questions, and Andrés follows that with a discussion on the pros and cons of Aaron Judge playing in center field. Peter looks into how concerned the Yankees should be with Gerrit Cole’s future performance as the league looks into pitchers using foreign substances, and then Joe will argue for Gary Sánchez and Miguel Andújar to gain some priority in the lineup.
Today’s Matchup:
Off-day.
Fun Questions:
1. Ending aside, was that a satisfying series in Minnesota?
2. Is the offense rejuvenated or do you need to see more?
