Here’s the program ahead of a Mother’s Day matinee.

It feels like the Yankees go to extra innings at least once a week this season. Things didn’t go their way in most of the early season extra-inning affairs, but they took the win in their latest encounter with Manfredball. It wasn’t looking pretty for 90 percent of the game, but hey that’ll happen when you’re facing vintage Max Scherzer — and he can still be vintage even as a 36-year-old.

Our lineup won’t wait until the ninth to start dishing out some hits though. Peter starts us off with a look into the changeup usage across the organization and the philosophy that the club has adopted with the pitch. John looks into the back-to-back meltdowns that the bullpen endured recently, and what can be garnered from them, while Erica breaks down some of the knowledge that Paul O’Neill has been dispensing in the YES booth. Also, I’ll be recapping the action from the minors yesterday.

Today’s Matchup:

New York Yankees vs. Washington Nationals

Fun Questions:

1. The Yankees are 3.5 games behind Boston, and are set to meet them for the first time on June 4th. Can they catch them in the standings before that date?

2. In honor of Mother’s Day, what’s one great memory you have with your Mom?
