Perhaps the offense will arrive in Detroit today.

The last time the Yankees faced off with the Tigers, they handled business and promptly swept them. It was the beginning of a significant homestand that saw the Yankees start to dig their way out of the hole that April put them in. This time? Night and day. The Yankee offense has been almost non-existent, and the onus has been on the pitching to be perfect, which it hasn’t. The team is sorely in need of a win to end a rough stretch, especially considering the opponent that’s coming up after they leave the Motor City.

Before the Yankees close out this dismal series with a matinee in Motown, we’ve got a couple of things for you to peruse. I’ll be around with a minor league recap — featuring a pair of doubleheaders — and an early call for the next mailbag, thanks to some scheduling workarounds. In between those, Kevin will look into the results from the prospects that Brian Cashman has traded away of late, and Joe will be around for the social media spotlight.

Today’s Matchup:

Fun Questions:

1. The Yankees are 17-9 in May with two games to go, up from 12-14 in April. Will June bring a new highwater mark for wins in a month?

2. When is the best time to grab food at the game if you plan on eating during the match?
