The Yankees and Blue Jays were originally scheduled to play the second of their three-game set tonight at Yankee Stadium with Domingo Germán facing rookie Alek Manoah. However, as the weather forecast continued to look bleak on Wednesday afternoon, the league and the teams decided to take action. Manoah’s MLB debut will have to wait, as the Yankees announced that the game would be postponed.
Fortunately, because this is the middle game of a series and against a division rival who the Yankees face quite a bit, we shouldn’t have to wait long to see this resolved. The Yankees and Blue Jays will play a single-admission doubleheader tomorrow afternoon, beginning at 4:05pm ET. It’s possible that the matchups are tweaked, but for now, assume that Germán will lock horns with Manoah in the earlier game, and half an hour after that one ends (7:05pm ET at the earliest), Jordan Montgomery should square off against Robbie Ray.
We’ll keep you posted with any further updates. For now, enjoy your evenings and if you’re still up for some baseball, cheer for Atlanta against Boston and Kansas City against Tampa Bay. Or watch the Knicks. I don’t control your life.
