Today on Pinstripe Alley - 5/26/21

The Yankees regroup and look to build another winning streak today.

MLB: Toronto Blue Jays at New York Yankees Wendell Cruz-USA TODAY Sports

I miss the six-game winning streak already. I miss the Blue Jays’ six-game losing streak, too. Alas, both came to an end yesterday in a lackluster performance in the Bronx that also saw Corey Kluber face an injury scare. He’ll undergo an MRI on his shoulder today, so hopefully, we’ll hear some good news before Domingo Germán heads to the bump this evening against Jays rookie Alek Manoah.

Today on the site, Andrés will provide an update on Deivi García’s up-and-down time in Triple-A, and Cooper will compare the Yankees’ rotation to the rest of MLB’s elite. Later, Peter will delve into Gio Urshela’s defensive improvements from earlier in 2021, and Cooper will return with a second article, this time on why Gerrit Cole is the most likely ace to join Kluber on the no-hit roll call.

Today’s Matchup:

New York Yankees vs. Toronto Blue Jays

Time: 7:05 p.m. EST

TV: YES, SNET-1

Radio: WFAN 660/101.9 FM, WADO 1280

Venue: Yankee Stadium

Fun Questions:

1. If Kluber has to miss time, would you automatically turn to Deivi? Or perhaps someone else given his shaky start to 2021?

2. Which Blue Jays hitter do you find to be the most annoying to deal with in their lineup? This isn’t necessarily searching for a statistical answer — just how you feel about it.
