Today on Pinstripe Alley - 5/23/21

The Yankees wrap up a series with the White Sox before a much-welcomed off-day.

Friday’s late-game heroics were thrilling, but Saturday was much more comfortable, no? It definitely calms the nerves to see the Yankees’ offense actually thrive and Gerrit Cole get back to business after a rare loss against Texas. If every game ended in a 7-0 Yankees win, it wouldn’t be especially interesting, but I would still absolutely take it. As a matter of fact, I think the Yankees should win 7-0 again today to finish the sweep, just to prove the point!

This morning on PSA, Joe will delve into Gleyber Torres’ excellent return from the COVID IL, John will explore Brian Cashman’s trade history to find the earliest notable deals that he’s made within a season, and with Corey Kluber’s next start looming on Tuesday, Peter will look into how other 2021 pitchers have fared in the starts following no-hitters. (You’re on notice, Johnny Vander Meer.) After the matinee, Joe will return for the weekly social media roundup.
