Yankees Social Media Spotlight: Luke Voit hypes up the fanbase

The return of Luke Voit comes with a hype video.

Since baseball shut down in March of last year, we have kept you posted on what the Yankees have been up to on social media. Although baseball is gradually getting back to normal, it’s still fun to check in our favorite players and Yankee figures, so we will continue to do so throughout 2021. Here’s your weekly update on what your favorite Yankees have been doing on social media!

Voit posts hype video before return

One of the most electric players on the team made his return to the field for the first time in 2021. The first base position had been lackluster to say the least for the Yanks this year, so Voit is a major upgrade for New York. Before his first game, the slugger posted a video that hyped up the fanbase with this video:

Gio Urshela and Aroldis Chapman post action shots

Urshela and Chapman have been extremely important contributors on the team, especially of late. Chapman has a 0.00 ERA through 15 games, and Urshela had a clutch pinch-hit three-run homer to propel the Yanks to victory against the Orioles this past week. They both took to Instagram to post their favorite action shots from their series in Tampa.

AJ Burnett recalls memory with Mike Harkey

With pitching coach Matt Blake in quarantine, Matt Harkey has assumed duties as the pitching coach. Former Yankees pitcher AJ Burnett recalled a funny memory with Harkey during a mound visit in 2010.

Tanaka takes some hacks in batting practice

Finally, we have our old friend Masahiro Tanaka, who was taking batting practice in Japan. While in the majors, Tanaka had 29 plate appearances and recorded a hit. Looks like he’s trying to improve himself at the plate now.
