Today on Pinstripe Alley - 4/9/21

Here’s the rundown ahead of a late-afternoon clash with the Rays.

After a day off for travel, the Yankees begin their first road trip of the season today. St. Pete will be the first destination, with a three-game slate against the Rays starting things off. Tampa Bay is 4-6 to start the year, sitting a game behind the Yankees and all alone at the bottom of the AL East — not that that matters yet, but it’s fun to point out. We’ll have a game thread up for the first game of the series later today, and I’ll have the honor of recapping the game.

In the meantime, we’ve got plenty of topics to go over. The mailbag arrives and sets the record straight on all of the RISP concerns that have arisen, and Jake adds the latest prospect preview focusing on Luis Gil. Josh looks into one of the biggest trends from the first week of play that the offense could actually use some improvement on, and Andrés discusses why there shouldn’t be too much of a concern with Gio Urshela just yet.
