Today on Pinstripe Alley - 4/8/21

The Yankees are off today as they travel to Tampa for their first road trip of 2021.

MLB: Baltimore Orioles at New York Yankees Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports

The Yankees finished their first homestand of 2021 with an even 3-3 split, and even though they took the latter series against Baltimore, the loss last night didn’t exactly usher in a wave of happy feelings entering an off-day. Oh well. Baseball can be annoying like that. The Yankees will resume action on Friday afternoon, when they play the Rays at Tropicana Field. The upcoming six-game road trip will actually be played entirely in Florida, as the following series is a three-game set against the Blue Jays at their spring training complex in Dunedin.

To while away your hours today, Peter will consider if Rougned Odor could be the Yankees’ next reclamation project, and Dan will project the upcoming minor league season of infielder Ezequiel Duran, who led the New York-Penn League in homers in 2019. Later, Tom will explore the issues behind Aaron Hicks’s awful start, Andrés will preview the Yankees/Rays series, and Cooper will research one of the few bright spots from last night: Jameson Taillon’s debut in pinstripes.
