The Orioles return to New York. Gleyber Torres smiles.

Well, aside from baseball being back and Gary Sánchez looking good, that opening series wasn’t much fun, now was it? Thankfully, the Yankees have an opportunity to push those memories away in a hurry, as the Orioles are in town to begin a three-game set tonight. Although Gleyber Torres will probably be happy, maybe the Bombers should be the ones quaking in fear, as the O’s are off to a 3-0 start after dismantling the Red Sox at Fenway over the weekend. Orioles Magic, baby. (Or maybe it’s just Red Sox Pitching Sewage Explosion.)

Matt is first up for us today, previewing the pitching matchups of the Baltimore series, Jake will follow with a season preview of catching prospect Josh Breaux, and I’ll have a FanPost Friday prompt afterward. Later on, Peter will show how the YES Network could make some improvements to their in-game production, and Ryan will ask about your mailbag questions.

Today’s Matchup:

New York Yankees vs. Baltimore Orioles

Time: 6:35 p.m. EST

TV: YES Network, MASN, MLB.tv (out of market)

Radio: WFAN 660/101.9 FM, WADO 1280

Venue: Yankee Stadium

Fun Questions:

1. On the topic of Gleyber facing the Orioles today, what’s your favorite example of a Yankees player — owning another team or player?

2. How many innings will today’s starter, Jordan Montgomery, end up throwing in 2021? Keep in mind that 2020 was supposed to be his first full season after Tommy John surgery, but the pandemic shortened that.
