Controversial opinion, but I prefer it when the Yankees win instead of losing. Hot take, I know. Unfortunately, the Yankees did the latter yesterday in Baltimore, dropping the opening game of this four-game series. Combined with the loss in the series finale against Cleveland, the Yankees are now back on the seesaw of winning and losing that they’ve been riding pretty much the whole year. Hopefully, Corey Kluber can send the seesaw up again tonight.
Until then, we’ve got you covered with a horde of analysis. Jon starts the day out by breaking down the importance of individual relief pitchers, explaining how the Yankees have gotten away with missing Zack Britton throughout this opening stretch. Tom previews the latest minor leaguer from the system, this time putting a lens on Anthony Volpe, and Josh dives into the data on why Jameson Taillon’s fastball should be performing well — but just isn’t. Finally, Cooper revisits an offseason topic on a potential Luis Castillo trade and why that may have been a good no-deal.

Fun Questions:
1. Do you expect Deivi García to get called back up once his 10-day required stay in Scranton is done, or will he stay down there for a while?
2. Now that there’s been some games to settle in, is the current Odor-LeMahieu-Ford infield depth better than the LeMahieu-Bruce-Wade setup?
