This road trip seems to be showcasing a very different looking Yankees squad so far. Through two games in Cleveland, the offense has been finding their spots and the pitching has survived a pair of awful first innings. The Bombers have taken three of their last four, and have the opportunity to go on an actual win streak for the first time all season. It’ll be a matchup of aces with Gerrit Cole and Shane Bieber going head-to-head, but hey, they’ve gotten good results out of that before.
Today’s slate of articles begins with Josh dissecting the ridiculousness of the “hustle” discussion around Gleyber Torres, followed by Peter providing a preview of Josh Smith’s season down in the minors and John musing over the potential of another Year of the Pitcher. After that, Cooper looks into whether Domingo Germán has made substantial adjustments through three starts and I’ll argue that the Yankee roster as constructed would be next to impossible to sell on.
