Today on Pinstripe Alley - 4/23/21

Signs of life from the offense last night stirred hopes again.

MLB: New York Yankees at Cleveland Indians David Richard-USA TODAY Sports

Don’t blink now, but despite taking a rough one on the chin on Wednesday, the Yankees have now won two of their last three games following that five-game losing streak. No, it’s not much, but it’s a start. They’ll try to make it three of four tonight with Jordan Montgomery getting the ball in Cleveland.

Meanwhile, on the site today, Ryan will answer your mailbag questions, Dan will preview the 2021 season of southpaw prospect T.J. Sikkema, and Jon will write about reasons for optimism with Jameson Taillon going forward from a health and performance perspective. Later, Josh will discuss the Yankees’ change in playoff odds due to their slow start, and John will propose using Michael King as a piggyback starter for some of the Yankees’ starters who can’t go deep into games.

Today’s Matchup:

New York Yankees at Cleveland

Time: 7:10 p.m. EST

TV: WPIX, Bally Sports Great Lakes

Radio: WFAN 660/101.9 FM, WADO 1280

Venue: Progressive Field

Fun Questions:

1. What did you find to be the most encouraging aspect of Thursday night’s win?

2. How would you arrange your outfield tonight if you were Aaron Boone? Aaron Judge starting in right field feels like the only slam dunk, though Aaron Hicks did reach base twice last night.
