There’s been a lot of intriguing moments for the Yankees already this season, some bad and some good. On one hand, the offense has looked very inconsistent out of the gate — sometimes they look like a well-oiled machine, other times they sputter to the finish line. On the other hand, the pitching has mostly held the line, and in particular the bullpen has been the glue holding things together.
All of this leads to plenty of overreactions and hot takes, but there’s plenty of legitimate praise and concern to level at this team. Where did the Domingo Germán from spring training go? Is Gerrit Cole already in Cy Young form? Does a competitive Red Sox team make this division a toss-up again?
