It’s Opening Day Eve and well past time for another podcast! The Yankees will begin their 2021 season tomorrow afternoon against the Blue Jays, and we’re ready to see some regular season baseball again.
Kunj and I caught up on the latest spring training news, focusing on the unfortunate Luke Voit injury that has led us to “Opening Day first baseman Jay Bruce,” as well as the the pitching situation getting mostly settled with Justin Wilson landing on the injured list and Domingo Germán winning the last rotation spot over Deivi García. Of course, we still anticipate seeing plenty of García in 2021.
After the quick news rundown, Kunj and I did a draft with a very simple premise: “Things We’re Excited About From the 2021 Yankees.” It’s exactly what you think it is, and it was a lot of fun! (Even if I accidentally cheated a bit.) As always, we wrapped up with the Yankee and Mitre of the Week. Also, reserve catcher Max McDowell ended up being mentioned at least five times in this show. It was quite the thing.
You can listen to the show on the web player below, or on any of your preferred podcast apps — to name a few, we’re on Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, Spotify, PlayerFM, and iHeartRadio. As a reminder, if you were already subscribed to former host Ryan Chichester’s “Bomber Brothers” feed, then you’re good!
