Today on Pinstripe Alley - 3/30/21

The first off-day after the end of spring training. Opening Day is in two days.

If the final countdown to Opening Day wasn’t on already, then it sure as hell is now. Spring training is officially over, and having finished the Grapefruit League season at 14-12, the Yankees probably should’ve just packed it up and went home for 2021. Instead though, they will head up to the Bronx for games that actually matter with regulars who are actually good. I guess it’s a fair plan, but whatever.

We have two days off until the Blue Jays come to town for Thursday’s opener. We’ll do our best to keep you entertained with engaging posts and other assorted previews. Today, Dan will reconsider the Yankees’ 2020 alternate site roster decisions, and Jake will look ahead to Jay Bruce’s somewhat-surprising role as Opening Day first baseman. Later, Tom will consider if the Yankees made the right call after all on Deivi García, and Joe ponders if 2021 might be Tyler Wade’s last chance with the Yankees.

Fun Questions:

1. The Yankees have one roster spot left to fill, so who would you pick to be the 26th man?

2. Which non-Yankees team are you most looking forward to watching in 2021?
