It feels like the Yankees have only played three teams this spring: the Blue Jays, Phillies and today’s opponent, the Detroit Tigers. Those two face off in their final spring training games from Steinbrenner Field in Tampa.
Domingo Germán, fresh off being named to the starting rotation to open the year, will take the hill in his final tuneup start. He’s had a strong spring, working nine innings with a 13:1 K:BB ratio. Offensively, the Yankees roll out a lineup that should look pretty similar to what they’re go with on Thursday. There is one huge absence, as Aaron Judge is sitting and hasn’t played since Friday. Make of that what you will.
It looks like we might start off in a rain delay, as it was storming in Tampa about 20 minutes ago. The weather’s a little better, but it’s worth considering since they only just took the tarp off the field:
