Yesterday was a rough day for Yankee fans, as the best first baseman in the AL, Luke Voit, revealed he had a partially torn meniscus and would miss the beginning of the season. As the team takes on the Phillies in the second last exhibition game of spring, the mantra for everyone is to just stay on the field.
Corey Kluber gets the start in Clearwater for a final tuneup start before taking a slot in the official starting rotation. His topline stats have been impressive, sporting a 1.86 ERA in exhibition play, but his trademark command has yet to appear. With three walks and two home runs allowed in 9.2 IP, it’s clear that he’s still struggling to locate despite good strikeout numbers.
