Good morning folks, buckle up because we’re in the home stretch for spring training. In under two weeks Opening Day arrives, and we’ll get to see Gerrit Cole toe the rubber in a meaningful game for the first time in quite a few months. I, for one, am excited.
To get there we’ll first have to get through one more run of exhibition games though, beginning with a nighttime clash with the Phillies, where Deivi García will take on former Yankee Iván Nova. This one won’t be broadcast again, so feel free to talk about the game here, though unfortunately we won’t even have a center field camera like when the games are in Dunedin.
In the meantime, we’ve got some content to keep you content. I’ll start the day off by opening up the mailbag for some questions to answer, and Josh will keep it going by providing a season preview on Gary Sánchez. Cooper checks in on some former Yankees, and I’ll also add in a discussion on the Yankees’ options in the front end of the bullpen and how some pitchers are hard-pressed to differentiate themselves.
Today’s Matchup:
New York Yankees vs. Philadelphia Phillies
Time: 6:35 p.m. EST
Venue: George M. Steinbrenner Field
Fun Questions:
1. Do you expect the roster battles to go down to the wire or be settled in the coming days?
2. Would you mind if the Yankees wore their spring training all-black uniforms on occasion as an alternate in the regular season?
