Today on Pinstripe Alley - 3/17/21

Let’s look ahead through today, this Wednesday.

MLB: Philadelphia Phillies at New York Yankees Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Wednesday marks the beginning of an unfortunate stretch: there will be no TV or radio broadcast of this afternoon’s game, nor the next two games the Yankees play. With an off-day coming up tomorrow, that means we won’t be able to really consume a Yankee game until Sunday, when the WFAN broadcast returns. The next TV isn’t until next Monday, which means a full week will transpire between televised Yankee games. This post will serve as today’s game thread, with Jordan Montgomery taking the hill for the Yanks. The Blue Jays will have a muted video feed of the game here.

On the site, Andres will preview new reliver Darren O’Day’s 2021 season, while Peter goes in depth on what Domingo Germán has shown thus far in spring training. John wonders if Gio Urshela can be the team’s backup shortstop, and Tom will give us an interesting look at what a banned shift would do to the Yankees.

Today’s Matchup

New York Yankees vs. Toronto Blue Jays

Time: 1:07 p.m. EST

Venue: TD Ballpark

Fun Questions:

1. A few weeks into spring training, which non-Gerrit Cole starter are you now feeling strongest about?

2. If the Yankees just set up a tripod behind home plate or in center field or something like that on days without a TV broadcast, how much would you watch?
