The Yankees are in Lakeland today to take on the Tigers. If this sounds familiar, it’s because this same exact matchup happened on Tuesday in the same setting.
This time though, the Yankees will be pitching Jameson Taillon rather than Deivi García. After he throws a few innings, Aaron Boone will cobble together the rest of the game from the following bunch that traveled to Joker Marchant: Albert Abreu, Kyle Barraclough, Nestor Cortes Jr., Nick Goody, Brooks Kriske, Tyler Lyons, Reggie McClain, and Addison Russ.
The Tigers will send Julio Teherán to the mound to take on New York. The former Braves All-Star had to settle for a minor league deal with Detroit in the offseason after a miserable 2020 with the Angels, but given that the rebuilding Tigers don’t exactly have Justin Verlander and Max Scherzer in their rotation anymore, Teherán probably has a good shot at cracking the 2021 roster.
Location: Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium, Lakeland, FL
First pitch: 1:05 p.m. EDT
TV broadcast: Tigers — Fox Sports Detroit
