We have kept you posted on what the Yankees have been up to on social media ever since baseball shut down last March. Although the baseball season has yet to return from the 2020-21 offseason, we’ll still provide weekly updates on what your favorite Yankees do when they’re not on the diamond!
Readying for the season
A handful of Yankees have been putting in the work this offseason to prepare for the 2021 season. Luke Voit, who led the league in home runs last year, posted a video of him in the cage. The good news is that he looks ready to mash a lot more homers this time around, too. The bad news would be for the pitchers who have to face him. Good luck with that!

Miguel Andújar has been working on his swing outside in the sun. After an injury-plagued 2019 and a mixed-at-best 2020, Miggy will have to return to his rookie season performance if he wants to have consistent time on the diamond. We have seen how good his bat can be and the Yanks hope he can emulate his 2018.
We’re not the only ones excited for the season to start soon; so is Gio Urshela. The Yankees third baseman posted this video montage of some of his greatest moments last year, including his grand slam in the postseason against Cleveland. Year three in pinstripes should be a good one for Urshela.
Chapman working on his filthy slider
Aroldis Chapman is obviously most-known for his triple-digit fastball, as he throws it over 70 percent of the time, per Baseball Savant. But the Yankees closer’s next-best pitch is his slider, which he has been consistently working to improve. Look at this video he posted of him throwing it. It looks almost unhittable.

One of the newest Yankees, Jameson Taillon, has been the talk of the team since being acquired. The pitcher is extremely excited to join the Yankees and was even answering questions on the Yankees’ Instagram account. It was there where he announced that he would be wearing No. 50 with New York (first base coach Reggie Willits will need a new number). He actually even joked that he had to double-check if the No. 50 was retired or not because he knew the Yankees have so many numbers in Monument Park.
Taillon is so amped up to be in the Bronx that he already has the babies in his family wearing Yankees hats.

Speaking of babies and players excited to be wearing pinstripes, DJ LeMahieu’s wife, Jordan, announced that they are expecting a baby girl in June of this year! Congratulations to DJ and Jordan!
