We have kept you posted on what the Yankees have been up to on social media ever since baseball shut down last March. We are one step closer to the new baseball season as spring training games started today. Here’s your weekly update on what your favorite Yankees have been doing on social media!
Yankees report to Florida
Pitchers and catchers reported last week, and the rest of the squad joined them in Florida this past week. The team wasted no time in posting pictures of them entering camp. The Yankees got Aaron Judge and Gleyber Torres walking their way into George M. Steinbrenner Field, and they looked more than ready to go.
The youngsters and the vet
Deivi García and Luis Medina posed for a picture together at camp. Both are 21-year-old pitchers, and have the ability to be very special players in the league. García showed flashes of his potential last season with the Yanks, and recently, Aaron Boone said that Medina is a special prospect and could possibly see major league action this year.
The young guns are having fun down south, but so is the veteran Corey Kluber. The righty signed a one-year deal with New York over the offseason. He has had a recent history of injury in the last couple of seasons, but he is set to have an important role in the rotation this season. His veteran leadership will also be very important to the young guys like García and Medina.
Squadding up
Turning pictures into album covers was a social media trend this month. This was a perfect picture for the trend. The photo features DJ LeMahieu, Aaron Hicks, Gleyber Torres, Gio Urshela, and Aaron Judge. The squad is readying to carry the Yankees to their championship No. 28.
Clint Frazier puts himself on his bat
Victus created a bat for Red Thunder with him painted on it. It looks awesome. The red hair, the face covering, the chain. Every detail on it is perfect. Sadly, Frazier wouldn’t be able to use it in a game.
