We have kept you posted on what the Yankees have been up to on social media ever since baseball shut down last March. We are one step closer to the baseball season as pitchers and catchers reported this past week. Here’s your weekly update on what your favorite Yankees have been doing on social media!

Gardner is back and his teammates are excited

Death, taxes, and Brett Gardner in pinstripes. After months of watching and waiting, the Yankees and veteran Brett Gardner have agreed on a contract that will bring him back to the Bronx for 2021. Did you have any doubt?

The news had many of his teammates (past and present) excited for his return, and they weren’t shy to express that on social media.

Year 14 for Gardy in the Bronx. Time to get him another ring!

Paxton says goodbye to New York

While Gardy is returning to the team, the Yankees said goodbye to James Paxton, who is returning to Seattle on a one-year deal. He allowed just four hits while striking out nine over six innings. The Yankees won the game 4-1. Thanks for the last two season, James. Good luck in Seattle!

Taillon’s reflects on his first day with the Yankees

Jameson Taillon seems to already be a fan favorite among the Yankees fanbase. He likes to joke around and has fun on the field. During his first day in pinstripes, Taillon said he took a picture of himself in his uniform because it felt so cool. Seems like he’s just as excited as we are to see him out on the mound.

Tanaka returns to Rakuten

After officially departing the Yankees in the offseason to return to his original Rakuten team in the NPB, Masahiro Tanaka made his spring debut with the Eagles over the weekend. As pitchers and catchers reported to Yankees camp, 2019 teammate Gerrit Cole reflected on Tanaka’s departure and wished his pal nothing but the best:
