Pinstripe Alley Podcast Ep. 117: Pitchers, Catchers, & Bruce, Oh My

The Yankees round out their roster as pitchers and catchers report.

It’s been about two weeks since Kunj and I returned to the Pinstripe Alley Podcast airwaves, and in that stretch, there has been some more baseball activity. Lefty reliever Justin Wilson signed a contract to return to the Yankees’ bullpen, Jay Bruce and Robinson Chirinos came aboard as minor league free agents, James Paxton officially bid farewell to New York by rejoining the Mariners, the minor leagues were reorganized, and MLB adopted rules for 2021 (including the seven-inning doubleheaders and extra innings with automatic runners on second).

Got all that? Good. Because we talked about pretty much all of it on the podcast, in roughly that order. Brett Gardner naturally came up too, as Bruce’s presence could potentially mean that the 13-year Yankee might not return after all. We also brought back an old favorite of the show — the Yankee and Mitre of the Week, this time expanded for the full offseason.

You can listen to the show on the web player below, or on any of your preferred podcast apps. As a reminder, if you were already subscribed to former host Ryan Chichester’s “Bomber Brothers” feed, then you’re good!
