This Saturday is better than most of the ones from the past few months, mainly because it is our last one without any kind of organized Yankees baseball activity until the fall (hopefully deep in the fall).
Cooper will kick off our Pinstripe Alley coverage by continuing his AL East position rankings, tackling the hot corner today. The release of Ben Heller inspired John to do a retrospective on the 2016 trade deadline deal that sent Andrew Miller to Cleveland in exchange for Heller, Clint Frazier, Justus Sheffield, and J.P. Feyereisen. Later in the afternoon, Peter will determine if Jeremy Jeffress makes any sense to add to the bullpen, and Matt will do a deep dive on a forgotten Yankees pitcher from the Deadball Era who improbably turned himself into a World Series champion first baseman with the Boston Braves.
- Before it changed to a private event, did you consider going to Cooperstown for Derek Jeter’s Hall of Fame induction ceremony?
- The Rays signed Rich Hill to a one-year deal late on Friday night. He’ll turn 41 in March, but when healthy, the crafty veteran has been quite good on the mound since his comeback began in 2015. Are you at all concerned or annoyed that the Yankees didn’t give him a shot? Or merely apathetic?
