Time flows at an unusual pace in the offseason — there are stretches where news seemingly comes every day and then periods where absolutely nothing is happening. There hasn’t been any significant news just yet, but at least things have been happening. The latest tidbit was the announcement of this year’s Gold Glove winners — Joey Gallo took home one for the Yankees, but it was an otherwise quiet event for a team that didn’t play solid all-around defense. The Cardinals, conversely, became the first team to field five Gold Glove winners in a single year, and the first team to have three infielders win since the Yankees did in 2010.

Today on the site, Dan provides an update on the AFL (among other winter leagues) and a report card on Kyle Higashioka. Peter reveals our PSA predictions on free agency this offseason, and Andrew introduces this year’s Sporcle quiz on the 2021 Yankees (good luck to the brave souls attempting to recall all of this year).

Fun Questions:

1. Was there a player across MLB that didn’t get a qualifying offer that surprised you?

2. What would you make of Luis Rojas, ex-Mets manager, becoming one of the Yankees’ base coaches?
