A couple days ago, we got a spate of offseason news, with the Yankees culling their 40-man roster with an eye to the Rule 5 Draft at some point later this winter. There wasn’t much news yesterday, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see the team make a few more marginal moves as they work to get the fringes of their roster settled. Such small potatoes will have to sate us as we wait for the bigger dominoes to drop.
On the site today, Estevão discusses how MLB could improve the playoffs with a couple of simple rules changes, Josh looks at the impact of the three true outcomes in the playoffs, Esteban reflects on the good (and the bad) of the various farewell seasons the Yankees have seen in recent years, Peter reviews Aaron Hicks’ brief 2021 campaign, and Joe runs around Yankee social media.
Fun Questions:
1. How many home runs will Joey Gallo hit in 2021?
2. Should MLB re-seed the playoffs at any point during the postseason?
