The offseason keeps on rolling along, as we head into the first weekend without baseball. The Yankees have begun to make some small roster moves, declining options on Brett Gardner and Darren O’Day, while also letting Andrew Velazquez, Greg Allen, and Tim Locastro leave via waivers. This opens up some roster space on the 40-man, and depending on how many prospects need to be protected in the Rule 5 draft we could expect to see some more small moves. Still plenty of time to figure all of that stuff out, though.
Speaking of that time, Kevin leads us off today with a discussion on how the CBA talks will likely prevent any major moves from happening relatively soon. John will deliver a report card on Andrew Heaney (spoiler: he didn’t pass the class) and Andrés dials in on the Yankees’ need at center field with a sudden lack of depth.
Fun Questions:
1. Will the Yankees have a new centerfielder on Opening Day, or will Aaron Hicks return as the starter?
2. How well do you adjust to Daylight Savings?
