The World Series is nearing a close, and that means that all 30 teams will soon be in offseason mode. This should start to hasten the hot stove burners, and perhaps we’ll see some indication of how teams are planning to move in the coming weeks. The Yankees have already had some rumors swirling around them, mainly concerning whether they will be one of the top bidders in the free agent market or not. The team has officially reset the luxury tax again, just as they did before hunting their white whale in Gerrit Cole, but it remains to be seen how impactful that will be with a new CBA on the horizon.
Since we don’t know what that will entail just yet though, we can only work with the system as is at the moment. That means it’s fair game to speculate on what the Yankees’ biggest move will be — and they certainly seem poised to make one. Which of the three top shortstops could the team target as their top priority? Who on the pitching market seems like the best fit? If you’ve got questions like these, or any other concerns, be sure to send them in for a chance to be featured in our Yankees mailbag.
Answers will run on Friday morning. All questions received by the night of November 4th will be considered. You can leave your submissions in the comment section below or by e-mail to pinstripealleyblog [at] gmail [dot] com.
