After six months, 161 games, and far more ups and downs than anyone was prepared for, we’ve somehow arrived at the final day of the Yankees’ regular season. If I’d told you before the season the spot the Yankees would find themselves in today (i.e. far out of AL East contention), you may have been surprised. You’d likely be much more surprised if I’d told you three months ago where the Yankees would be at game 162, given that the club was at .500 halfway through.
Whether you’re shocked the team underperformed or stunned they rallied back into it, we’ve made it to the finish line. It’s been a frustrating season, but not one without plenty to be excited about and entertained by. All of us at Pinstripe Alley thank you for taking this strange journey with us, and of course, we hope that the story doesn’t end here.
On the site ahead of the final game with the Rays, we’ll see Joe spin around social media, Estevao go through the playoff picture heading into the last slate of games, and Matt run through the most random Yankees to take the field in 2021, AKA the ones most likely to stump you on the Sporcle quiz.
