Your Monday morning briefing.

MLB: Texas Rangers at New York Yankees Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports

Yesterday was one of the few days we’ve had without baseball of any kind recently, and today will follow suit. The World Series is set and ready to go on Tuesday, however, with Atlanta travelling to Houston for a battle between two of the biggest cities in the South. Houston’s continued success has dulled the barbs of throwing 2017 at them over and over again (though like A-Rod, it makes it all the more frustrating that they did it in the first place), and another title would all but put it to bed. Meanwhile, Atlanta is looking to surge from the afterthought of this postseason field to champions — something that would help alleviate the wounds of their last championship core dominating the NL for years only to come up with one title. It’s a compelling finale to this year, if you still care to watch.

On the site today, Andrew will introduce this year’s Report Card series, and Dan will debut the first one on Albert Abreu. Dan also has a check-in on the Yankees prospects playing in the Arizona Fall League, highlighted by Austin Wells’ strong start. Erin goes over some storylines to follow through the World Series, and Kevin examines the instances where Yankees pitchers blew it on 0-2 counts.

Fun Questions:

1. How much stock do you place in Arizona Fall League performances?

2. Who ya got, Astros or Braves?
