A weekend rundown.

MLB: New York Yankees at Baltimore Orioles Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

At last, our long (regional) nightmare is over. The Red Sox eliminated the Yankees from World Series contention this year, but we will at least be spared watching Boston raise another banner. Of course, this is all thanks to the Astros, so this will represent the smallest of silver linings to many Yankee fans. It averts the worst-case scenario, at least.

On the site, Matt performs a wild experiment about Yankee legends using Out of the Park Baseball, Peter argues Yankee fans should be rooting for the Dodgers, Jon posits that there should be reason for optimism regarding Aaron Hicks in 2022, and Andres highlights how the Yankees’ next hitting coach, whoever it may be, will have their work cut out for them.

Fun Questions:

1. Will Gio Urshela produce an above average batting line in 2022?

2. What are the Dodgers’ odds of coming back with Max Scherzer now out?
