Welcome to Day 3 of the continuation of the Aaron Boone Era. Isn’t it exciting? Okay, it’s pretty boring because 1) The Yankees won’t play meaningful baseball again until March 31st, and 2) Aaron Boone is not particularly exciting anyway. There’s no American League baseball today either, as the Red Sox and Astros are traveling to Houston for a potential series-clinching Game 6 tomorrow, though Atlanta and Los Angeles will wrap up the Dodger Stadium portion of their NLCS tonight.
Today on the site, John will examine the Twins’ demise and how it reflects the Yankees (to a lesser degree). Later on, Matt will look back on the team’s longest homers, Jon will discuss the most successful basestealers in Yankees history, and Peter will look for reasons for optimism in DJ LeMahieu.
Fun Questions:
1. Growing up, who was your favorite Yankees basestealer to watch?
2. Who wins tonight’s Thursday Night Baseball matchup between the Browns and Broncos?
