The weekend arrives with a little less baseball than last time.

MLB: Tampa Bay Rays at New York Yankees Wendell Cruz-USA TODAY Sports

Turns out the meteor did not win Game 1 of the ALCS, to everyone outside of Houston and Boston’s chagrin. The Astros came out on top, winning by a narrow 5-4 score made close by Kiké Hernández’s ninth inning blast. That series could easily go either way, if you care to follow it, but naturally we will do our best to pretend that the World Series is between the two National League teams instead.

Anyway, over here we’ve got more content lined up to get you through your day. Jesse argues that the Yankees’ promising shortstop prospects shouldn’t get in the way of them signing a superstar this offseason, and Jon reflects on former Yankees postseason heroes who wound up managing the team in honor of the anniversary of Aaron Boone’s 2003 heroics. Dan ponders whether the state of the Yankees’ centerfield prospects are good enough to contribute meaningfully next year, and Erica breaks down all of the weird rules to baseball that have been dug up this postseason.

Fun Questions:

1. Will Estevan Florial make the Opening Day roster next year?

2. Who ya got, Dodgers or Braves?
