Time keeps on ticking, and the LCS round is fast approaching. The Red Sox (groan) were the first team to punch their tickets to the league championships, upsetting the top-seeded Rays whose rookie pitching finally faltered. Meanwhile, the Astros, Braves, and Giants could all advance with wins today, or the White Sox, Brewers, and Dodgers could force Game 5s with wins. Lots to unpack there, especially the potential for having to make peace with the Astros in order to prevent another Sox title run. Ew.
If you don’t fancy processing all of that — and I don’t blame you — there’s plenty of Yankees topics to check out instead. Josh evaluates Brian Cashman’s position, John rewinds through the best Yankees non-closer relievers of the decade, Jon compares Giancarlo Stanton’s electric postseason numbers to other legendary starts, and Jesse examines how the Yankees need to re-evaluate their defensive plans.
1. Who was your favorite non-closer reliever to watch over the past decade?
2. Who advances today, and who has to play a Game 5?
