The weekend is nearly over, and the days are started to blend together without Yankees baseball to mark them. The action in the playoffs seems to be spiking — we’ve got series guaranteed to go at least four games deep everywhere except in Houston, where it’s likely that the White Sox get swept. That’s neat and all, but the only thing less appealing than getting through an October without the Yankees is getting through an October where the AL has to send one of the Red Sox, Rays or Astros to the Fall Classic. No thanks.
Moving on from that unpleasant thought, we’ve got some retrospective content for you today. Estevão examines the Mike Tauchman-Wandy Peralta trade now that the year is complete, and also brings the next installment of our Hispanic Heritage Month coverage: this time centering on Rafael Soriano. Matt reflects on all of the dumbest games that the Yankees played in this especially-dumb season, Emma looks back at her memories of playoff runs from the past, and Joe brings the latest social media spotlight.
Fun Questions:
1. What will be on your TV more today — the NFL or the ALDS games?
2. Would it have made a difference if the Yankees had held onto home field advantage for the Wild Card Game?
