CBS Sports | Katherine Acquavella: In an interview earlier this week, Luke Voit expressed the sentiment that the Yankees needed to bring back DJ LeMahieu. The slugging first baseman, who himself led the league in home runs last season, called LeMahieu “the best hitter in baseball”. Voit also said “I’m literally sitting next to a printer right now and it makes me think of DJ because he’s a freaking machine. We need him!”. The printer also could evoke images of how the Yankees print money most seasons, and could use said money to sign LeMahieu.

The Ringer | CC Sabathia and Ryan Ruocco: Sabathia has former Rays ace and recent Padre addition Blake Snell on his podcast for a wide-ranging discussion. It’s an interesting listen, as Snell typically isn’t shy about sharing his thoughts. They touch on the rivalry between the Yankees and Rays, and the call to the bullpen heard round the world in Game Six of the World Series.

FanGraphs | David Laurila: Here’s a good interview with Yankees prospect Clarke Schmidt. The young right-hander dishes on the nuances of pitching, touching on how he developed his plus breaking ball, whether he calls his breaker a curve or slider, spin rates, grips, and more. It’s fascinating stuff for those who want to know more about the nitty-gritty of throwing a baseball.
