Yankees Highlights: Bats break out, but bullpen blows the game

Thanks, I hate it.

I don’t think I have words to describe this Yankees team.

That’s a problem, you see, because my job is to produce words describing this Yankees team.

They continue to find new, embarrassing ways to lose. I would say they have elevated losing to an art form, but I don’t think they deserve that kind of credit,

We’ll have a full recap up soon. But in the meantime, here are some highlights:

Winner of the Game

The Yankees scored some runs! Multiple runs! They hit multiple home runs in the same game! That’s champagne celebration worthy right now. Luke Voit, Aaron Hicks, and Miguel Andújar hit the bombs, so they share the honors.

Honorable Mention: Clint Frazier

Loser of the Game

Chad Green and Adam Ottavino combined for the worst inning of the season on Monday night. I like to say the Yankees have the Bullpen of Doom, but I don’t like how they switched the definition. They allowed ten runs in an infinite sixth inning, with Ottavino failing to record a single out. Watching that inning was like rubbernecking a car crash.

Honorable Mention: Jordan Montgomery
