Start off your Wednesday with an open thread.

Hello everybody, we’re looking at a must-watch series finale tonight between the Yankees and Rays. Things got chippy last night, and some words were said post-game that heavily imply that at least one pitcher is going to throw at a batter. This is a dumb scenario altogether but it’s the last time these two teams face off in the regular season and they clearly detest each other, so perhaps it was just unavoidable.

On a more positive note, we’ve got a full lineup for you today. Andrés leads off with a discussion on why it’s not time to panic yet over Gerrit Cole’s home run struggles, and Joe recaps the trade deadline for all of the AL East. Dan Kelly delivers the second half of his interview with Yankees prospect Beck Way, and Tom dives into why Mike Tauchman hasn’t followed up on his breakout 2019 season. While you’re waiting for all of those stories, feel free to use this as your open thread for the day.

Fun Questions

1. Will giving Gary Sánchez some DH days help him break out of his slump?

2. Are the Yankees better or worse off not getting to play Tampa again after today?
