Welcome in the week with an open thread.

There’s new life for the Yankees. After looking lethargic for nearly two weeks, the team is riding a five game winning streak into one of the biggest series of the season — three games in Yankee Stadium against the Toronto Blue Jays. Key players are beginning to return as Gleyber Torres has reinserted himself into the lineup, and Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton and Gio Urshela prepare to return at the alternative training site. Things are getting exciting.

We’re opening up the week as per usual, with a FanPost prompt and a mailbag request. Accompanying them are an article from John diving into how the Yankees’ backstops may have impacted the recent slide from the pitching staff, and a piece from Peter looking into how Deivi García finding some consistency with one particular pitch could elevate his game. In the meantime, feel free to use this as your open thread for the day.

Fun Questions:

1. How much more do you need to see from García before trusting him in the postseason?

2. Will the race for second place in the AL East go down to the wire?
