Just like that, the Yankees find themselves back in a playoff position. They claim one of the Wild Card spots, and after a big series with the Blue Jays this week, they could secure a second-place entrance. Beyond getting in the dance, the Bombers will want to go for as high a seed as they can get, because that will determine their October opponent. This ever-fluctuating picture brings up to our FanPost Friday prompt:
What American League playoff team would make the toughest opponent for the Yankees?
The Yankees’ struggles against the Rays have been documented ad nauseam. A three-game series with Tampa Bay would make for uncomfortable viewing. There are plenty of other tough teams besides the Rays, though, with the Athletics storming through the AL West. The upstart Chicago White Sox have a powerful lineup, and the Twins—well, I know their postseason history against the Yankees hasn’t been pretty, but they still hit the cover off the ball. Head over to the FanPost section and let us know who you think. We’ll feature one of the submissions on the front page on Friday.
How will we select which FanPosts to promote to the front page? Some of it will be subjective. If you follow our tips, you should find yourself on the right track. We will also be looking for FanPosts with comments and recommendations. Depending on the number of responses we get, receiving some recs on your post could separate your FanPost from the crowd. Additionally, if your post has a number of comments then it may have sparked some worthwhile discussions. These are just a few things we’ll be looking for when we decide which post(s) to promote on the front page. We are always on the lookout for new talent, and the FanPost section can be a great way to get our attention.
Submit your answer in the FanPost section before Friday (September 18th) for your post to be considered.
