It’s Tanaka Time in the Bronx!

The Yankees continue their homestand tonight with another game against the Rays. I don’t know about you, but I would sign up for the moral victory of a win against Tampa Bay. That’s how poorly the season series against them has gone this year.

Masahiro Tanaka gets the start for the Yankees. The right-hander owns a 3.48 ERA (3.81 FIP) over five starts in 2020. He has pitched against the Rays twice this year, and one start went quite well (one hit over five innings) and another that did not (six runs over four innings). Let’s hope tonight’s outing is more along the lines of the former.

As for the Rays, Trevor Richards will take the ball. The right-hander has appeared in six games, making four starts, and he will likely serve as an extended opener. Think along the lines of Jonathan Loaisiga or Mike King. Richards, 27, owns a 4.71 ERA (3.99 FIP). He throws a fourseamer that averages 90.4 mph, while a changeup is his secondary offering.

Here’s the Yankees’ lineup:

And the Rays’:

First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM. You can watch on YES, stream on MLB.tv, or listen to the game on WFAN/WADO. Go Yankees, go baseball!
