Morning, friends. I don’t know about you, but I had a lot of fun covering the trade deadline yesterday, even if the Yankees didn’t make any moves.
This year had a little bit of everything, from a major splash (Mike Clevinger to the Padres), surprises (Mike Minor to the A’s), and an endless torrent of rumors. Last year deadline day felt flat, with the Yankees obviously out of the marketplace. Gimme the excitement of rumors, at least.
We’ll review it all, with Josh and Tom offering alternate takes on the decision to stand pat. Then we’ll look ahead to the future, both immediate and long-term, as Andrés talks about Deivi García and Dan Kelly interviews Beck Way.
In the meantime, feel free to use this as your open thread. Enjoy!
- Did the Yankees make the right call standing pat at the deadline?
- Are you looking forward to the fall?
