It’s been a long, strange trip to get to this game, but we will have the first seven-inning doubleheader of the Yankee season as New York travels to Citizens Bank Park for two games today. The Bronx Bombers will play as the “home” team in game one, to make up for yesterday’s postponement, and shift to the “visiting” team for the second.
The Yankees go with J.A. Happ, who struggled in his only start of 2020 as well. The veteran lefthander is quite literally pitching for his Yankee service, as each start and inning contribute to his vesting option for next year. Happ has had a problem with home runs for the better part of two seasons, and that will be the big worry about him facing a fairly powerful Phillies lineup.
